Podiatry treatment

Corns and Calluses

Assessment and treatment for painful corns, calluses and areas of hard skin during a home podiatry appointment.

Podiatrist providing corn and callus care during a home appointment

What the appointment may include

Corns and calluses develop where the skin is exposed to repeated pressure or friction. Suzanne can assess the area, provide appropriate treatment and discuss practical ways to reduce discomfort and help limit recurrence. Advice may include footwear considerations and simple foot-care measures suited to the individual.

Who may benefit

Home visits may be helpful for people who struggle to care for hard skin safely, have limited mobility, or find clinic travel inconvenient. People living with diabetes or other relevant medical conditions should provide accurate health information before treatment.

Assessment and referral

The cause and suitability for treatment are considered at every appointment. Persistent, unusual, infected or otherwise concerning areas may require onward referral to a GP or an appropriate specialist.
