Ingrowing Toenail Care

Conservative care for painful ingrowing toenails where this is appropriate following an individual assessment.

Podiatrist providing conservative care for an ingrowing toenail

What the appointment may include

An ingrowing toenail can cause tenderness, inflammation and difficulty wearing footwear. Suzanne will assess the nail and surrounding skin, review relevant medical information and provide conservative treatment when suitable. Clear advice is given about care after the appointment and signs that require further attention.

Who may benefit

A home appointment may be useful for patients who have difficulty travelling or managing a painful nail themselves. Please mention signs of infection, recent changes, diabetes, circulation concerns, medication and allergies when arranging care.

Assessment and referral

Some ingrowing toenails need treatment outside the scope of a routine home visit. Where specialist intervention or medical review is indicated, Suzanne will recommend an appropriate referral.
